artist statement

My paintings function as a visual diary rooted in autobiographical and emotional observation. Through self-portraits, I examine my evolving sense of self across shifting physical and psychological spaces. I call my works abstracted interiors—recording personal experiences and feelings through various internal environments, personal challenges, societal pressures, and patterns of thought. My work is an investigation of self, processing interior emotions and experiences to better understand my own identity. One of the goals of my work is to emphasize the importance of the female experience being recorded as it is personally felt and remembered.
